Examples & Achievements
- Names basic emotions in self and others (happy, sad, angry, scared, surprised, disgusted)
- Identifies what caused an emotion ("I'm sad because my friend moved away")
- Recognizes emotions from facial expressions, tone of voice, and body language
- Understands that the same event can cause different feelings in different people
- Begins to understand complex emotions (embarrassed, proud, jealous, grateful)
How to Measure
- Names 6+ basic emotions when shown pictures or during daily interactions
- Correctly identifies the cause of an emotion in 3 out of 4 scenario cards
